Plymovent DraftMax Ultra Downdraft Extraction Table

The Plymovent DraftMax Ultra is a downdraft and backdraft extraction table for daily, intensive use: MIG/MAG, TIG, flux-cored and stick welding, grinding and cutting up to 50 A. A 2.2 kW radial fan on a 400 V three phase supply draws 2,500 m³/h at 50 Hz through the work grid, and with the backdraft kit fitted (required for welding, recommended for grinding) about 80% of the extraction comes through the rear panel and 20% through the grid, keeping fume away from the welder’s face.

Two oval cartridge filters of cellulose and polyester fibres give 2 x 26 m² of filter area at over 99.9% efficiency, dust class M to DIN EN 60335-2-69, and are cleaned automatically online: when the pressure drop rises, compressed air at 5 to 8 bar cleans each cartridge from the inside, so the table keeps its airflow without stopping work. Sparks are stopped in three stages, below the 1,366 x 750 mm work grid, in a labyrinth spark trap and in the main filter housing, and dust falls into pull-out drawers under the pre-filters and main filters, all accessible from the front. An integrated buzzer signals when cartridges need replacing.

The table is 1,380 x 1,005 x 920 mm, height adjustable from 920 to 970 mm, and weighs 255 kg net. Noise is 74 dB(A), 69 dB(A) with the silencer and 67 dB(A) with silencer and HEPA kit; the HEPA kit adds a 34 m² final filter for stainless steel and chrome VI welding and makes the unit W3 compliant to EN ISO 21904-2. Side panels reduce draught and stop parts falling off, and the DraftMax carries CE marking under the Machinery, EMC, LVD and ErP directives.
